Hi, I’m Kelly and a wedding hairdresser. I have been working in hair salons in and around Leicestershire for 14 years, gaining valuable experience in all areas of hairdressing, working alongside some fantastic and influential hairstylists.
After working in the hair industry for some years, I realised weddings stood out and being a wedding hairdresser was something extra special that I had a flare for, so four years ago I took the leap to freelance and specialised in this area.
During this time, I have met some wonderful brides. I feel lucky and feel very privileged that I have been part of their special day and I just love getting them ready to feel their very best when they walk down the aisle.
For me, the key is recognising that every bride and their day is unique. I love creating hairstyles that make the bride feel elegant and sophisticated. And I enjoy looking at what is currently in fashion and taking inspiration from all the up and coming trends on the catwalk.
I also work part time in a salon, and this helps me keep up to date with current hair trends and keeps my cutting skills and hair colouring technical ability on point.
As a wedding hairdresser to keep your ideas fresh and present, I think education is essential. This being, I enjoy going on training courses and partaking in seminars. My most recent courses have been Andrew Collinge Advanced Cutting, Pompadour Wedding Styling, Lee Stafford and Vidal Sassoon seminars. It has been an excellent opportunity to learn and interact with some fantastic and inspiring stylists.
